Meadowbrook Easter Carnival

Saturday was an exciting day in the Bettinger household. We woke up to beautiful, sunny weather! It was a perfect day for the annual Easter Carnival at our church. The carnival is a great outreach opportunity for our community and fun for kids of all ages (and parents too). Throughout the day, Madalyn played games and won prizes, she enjoyed a free hot dog lunch, she watched a program full of dancing and singing, and we ended the day with the much anticipated Easter Egg Hunt. We had been telling her about the egg hunt for a few days and she was so excited to be able to take her Easter basket and pick up eggs that we had earlier stuffed with candy. It was a fun family day and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely - all except for the sunburns that we all came home with! I never thought of bringing sunblock in April. We definitely made some great memories together as a family of three...

I'll let the pictures tell some more of the story....
Walking around and checking things out...

The very first game that Madalyn played was the prize walk. We walked around once and didn't win. She wanted to do it again so we played one more time. When the music stopped, all the numbers around us were taken so we went to the nearest open number... number 20. And her number was called! She won a fun sand bucket filled with cute prizes including her favorite - bubbles!
Playing Games...

Golfing with Daddy! They had a great swing.
Carrying an egg on a spoon! She actually beat Daddy in this game!
Showin' some love to the big puppy! She talked about this puppy all day long!
She eyed the inflatables immediately when we got to the carnival, but I wasn't about to take her down that big slide being pregnant! I made Daddy do it. She was so excited! It took them a little bit to get up the "steps." You can't really tell here but Daddy slipped a couple of times. Apparently it was hard to carry Mads and climb those tiny steps. They did great though.
Check out those smiles! I love it! (if you click on the picture, it will enlarge so you can see better).
Mady "hunts" Easter eggs! She made her Daddy proud!
My precious baby girl. I love this little one so much! She was so excited to have 2 Easter baskets full of eggs! Go Mady!
