This is Matt...

Saturday afternoon Mark found a praying mantis on our screen on the sliding glass door. We put it in a jar with some grass for Mady when she woke up from her nap.

Mark and I left for the Illini game and when we got home we learned for the sitter that Madalyn had named the praying mantis "Matt" and she had requested that he "sleep" in her room for the night. I went in to check on her and Matt was sitting in his jar on her play kitchen.

The next morning she was telling someone that she had a "praying grasshopper" named Matt. It was really cute. She was carrying Matt everywhere - showing him to everyone, including the babies on numerous occasions.

This morning we heard Mady introducing Matt to her dolls and little people. She had the jar with Matt in it sitting in her dollhouse and she was saying, "Matt, this is Mia." "Mia, This is Matt." It was hilarious. I love the her imagination.

Matt wasn't looking so well this afternoon so we let him go in the window well in our basement. Mady goes down frequently to check on him. I can't believe how involved she is with this crazy bug! I wonder if she'll want to catch bugs all the time now??
