Another Menards Story

Our daughter has a serious fixation with Menards. I think it's because her and Daddy go there quite often together and it makes for some fun daddy-daughter time.

Anyway, last night we were all three sitting in the living room and I started brainstorming ideas for Madalyn's next birthday party. I was trying to think outside of the typical birthday party where all of her friends come over, we eat cake, and then she opens gifts from family. I had named off a few things and then I decided to ask the one for whom the party would be given. Here's how the hilarious conversation panned out:

Mom: "Mady, where would you like to go for your birthday this year?"
Mady: after she let out a hmm she was obviously thinking hard. She said in a quiet voice with a big smile on her face... "Menards."
Mom: "Menards? Well, what would be your second choice? Your next favorite thing to do?"
Mady: without hesitation, "Shopping!"
Mom: "Shopping? For what?"
Mady: with another smile on her face, "M&M's!"

Seriously! Apparently this year we will be spending her birthday at Menards. Haha! Kidding! Actually if it were up to Dad, we would!

Another random story from the night:
Mady and I were reading her bible while Daddy was showing the house to some people. We read the story about Jesus' death and resurrection and also read the story of Jonah. She insisted that we go back and re-read the stories about Jesus. She kept saying "More Jesus stories mommy!" So, we read them again. There are questions at the end of each of her bible stories so I was asking her questions like : "Where was Jesus born?" , "Who came to see baby Jesus?" , "Who brought baby Jesus gifts?" She answered with things like, "Stable, Shepherds, Wisemen." Then we moved on to the story of Jesus' ressurection. We talked about the people that made fun of Jesus and how he was raised from the dead. At the end of the chapter, I asked her, "Who does Jesus love?" She answered with "the bad mans, mommy." I quickly realized that she was talking about the men that were making fun of Jesus, as it was put in her bible. It was just cute to hear her say that Jesus loved each of us and even "the bad mans, mommy!"
